Ausstellungstext zur Text-Installation „Was du festhalten kannst“ in der Gruppenausstellung „It´s a Tomb!“, der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln in Monheim am Rhein.
„Initiale Idee für das Bespielen der Pyramide war das Thematisieren von Zeit, an diesem Ort, der mich dazu einlud – ein ehemaliges Pharmaunternehmen, eine große Vision beim Bauen dieses Gebäudes, alles vergangene Gefühle, Geschichten, Ambitionen.
Mich persönlich beschäftigt seit einiger Zeit das Thema Verlust – Festhalten im Gegensatzpaar, was ebenfalls sehr viel mit Zeit und Zeitvergehen zu tun hat.
Dieses Thema fand ich also in der Pyramide wieder, die bereits mehrfach umgenutzt wurde, und nun wieder vor einer Veränderung steht, dem Umzug des Kulturbüros in ein neues Gebäude. So ist das Gebäude bereits Zeichen von Zeitvergehen, ist selbst gezeichnet, und die Zeit ist in dem Moment der Ausstellung wieder dabei sich und es zu verändern.
Bereits vorhanden ist die Melancholie und Schönheit des Zurückgelassenen – Gebäude, Räume, die ihren Nutzen verlieren, schon verloren haben, umgenutzt wurden, Menschen, die Gebäude verlassen, loslassen, weiter gehen – und all das können oder nicht können, sich bewusst entscheiden oder gezwungen werden.
Das sind die Facetten, die in dem Satz stecken, „was du festhalten kannst“, den ich auf die Fensterscheiben verteile, der von allen Seiten präsent widerhallt, der sich aber auch in den Spiegelungen verlieren kann, zerfasern, und sich ebenso in bestimmten Blickwinkeln wieder zusammen setzt und doch sehr lose bleibt – womit er die eigene Antwort sogleich mitgibt.“

Exhibition text of the work „what you can hold (onto)“ of the group exhibition „It’s a Tomb!“ of KHM Students in Monheim am Rhein:
„The initial idea for working on the pyramid was to pick out „time“ as a central theme. In this place that invited me to do so – a former pharmaceutical company, a great vision in the construction of this building, all past feelings, stories, ambitions.
Since a while I have been interested in the theme of loss and holding on as an opposite word pair which also has a lot to do with time and the passing of time.
So I found this theme again in the pyramid, which has already been repurposed several times and is now also about to experience another change with the relocation of the cultural office to a new building. Thus the building is already a sign of the passing of time, is itself marked, and time is in the process of changing itself and it again at the moment of the exhibition.
There already is the melancholy and beauty of what is left behind – buildings, rooms that have lost their use, have been repurposed or neglected. People who leave buildings, let go, move on – and can or cannot, consciously decide or are forced to, ready or not…
These are the facets contained in the sentence “what you can hold on to”, which I spread on the window panes, which can get lost in the reflections, fray, which echoes present from all sides, and also reassembles itself in certain angles and yet remains very loose – whereby the sentence immediately gives its own answer.“
